Danny Reynolds, a Leeds native and decorated former amateur and professional boxer, established Reynolds Boxing Academy with a powerful mission: to empower young lives through the discipline and transformative power of boxing. With an impressive record of over 100 bouts, including securing a central title and reaching multiple national finals, Danny brings a wealth of hard-earned experience to his gym.
From Judo to the Ring
Danny's journey into combat sports began at a young age with judo, where he quickly earned a blue belt. Although unable to progress further in judo due to age restrictions at the time, the experience sparked his curiosity in boxing – a sport where he discovered his true passion. He honed his skills at the Market District Boxing Club in Leeds and continued his boxing career while serving in the infantry (1 WPO). This diverse background, combining the structured art of judo with the rigors of military boxing, instilled in him the discipline and resilience he now imparts to every student.
Building Champions, Building Character
Recognizing the unique potential of boxing to shape young lives positively, Danny opened Reynolds Boxing Academy. Here, he's more than just a trainer; he's a dedicated mentor. Danny's coaching philosophy goes beyond technique, focusing intrinsically on building confidence, self-respect, and emotional control. He understands the challenges faced by many young people in Leeds today and provides a supportive, structured community where they can thrive and steer clear of negative influences.
A Vision for the Future
Danny's ambition extends beyond local success. He envisions Reynolds Boxing Academy becoming a respected breeding ground for national champions and, ultimately, producing a world champion from Leeds. His unwavering belief in his students' potential drives him to provide the tools, guidance, and environment they need to achieve their dreams, regardless of their starting point.
More Than Just Boxing
Danny firmly believes that boxing is a vehicle for life transformation, teaching invaluable lessons in commitment, respect, and perseverance that extend far beyond the ring. His dedication to his students, his passion for the sport, and his own proven success make him a true role model, inspiring young people in Leeds to achieve their full potential.
